Riverwoods is a city of peace. Riverwoods is the first home stay project of the Chikmagalur District, operated by MCC. The project aims at providing quality care to HIV positive patients who are waiting for their first available free appointment at the district hospital. The patients are given a free stay at the project hostel along with nutritious meals, medical treatment, laundry, WiFi, etc. etc.

Living in the city, I might not have realized just how hot and humid it is. My trip to the city has shown me that the summer in Chikmagalur is very different from the summers in the city. I have seen people in the popular tourist spots of Chikmagalur wearing full sleeved shirts, and popular Bollywood songs playing over loudspeakers. You can't get lost in Riverwoods, and that is just what we want. It is a town of 6300 residents and is the centre of administration for the Karkala taluk and the taluk headquarters is located here. Riverwoods is just 18 km from the state capital of Bangalore and the nearest city is Mangalore. It is a place where you can walk to the beach or go shopping and still get back home in time for dinner. It is a place you can call home.
